Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Listwell collects, uses, and shares personal information.

Last updated September 19, 2026 ยท Version 2026-09-19

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to Listwell's website, authenticated application, public list pages, event invitation pages, and related services. It does not govern a third-party store, identity provider, or website reached through Listwell.

2. Information you provide

  • Account information, such as your displayed name, email address, password credentials handled by the authentication provider, and profile image.
  • Lists, items, descriptions, prices, quantities, product links, uploaded images, events, invitations, sharing settings, and item-claim activity.
  • Information you submit about another person when inviting or coordinating with them.
  • Communications and requests you send through available support or privacy-request channels.

3. Information collected automatically or from others

  • Session cookies and similar storage needed to authenticate you, remember state, prevent abuse, and operate the service.
  • Technical and security information such as IP address, request time, browser or device details, referring page, and application logs.
  • Identity information authorized through Google, Apple, Facebook, or another sign-in provider, which may include your verified email, name, provider identifier, and profile image.
  • Product metadata returned by a merchant page or product-information service when you submit a product URL.

4. How Listwell uses information

  • Create and secure accounts and provide lists, events, sharing, claims, and product-information features.
  • Show content to the people and event members you select.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, protect, and improve Listwell.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of the Terms.
  • Review safety reports, enforce content rules, and honor user blocking choices.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
  • Provide recommendations and measure interactions with them without sending private list or event content directly to an unaffiliated merchant.

5. When information is disclosed

  • To event members, invited participants, list viewers, or people who receive an active public sharing link, according to the feature and settings you use.
  • To infrastructure and service providers that support authentication, databases, hosting, image storage, email delivery, security, and product-information retrieval.
  • To an identity provider when you choose that provider's sign-in flow.
  • When required by law, necessary to protect rights or safety, or involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of the service.

6. Public and shared content

A public list link or event invitation can be forwarded by its recipient. Revoke links that should no longer work and avoid placing sensitive information in content intended for sharing. Item claims may be intentionally hidden from an item's owner to preserve a surprise, but they are still processed and visible to authorized participants as required by the feature.

7. Retention

Listwell retains information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with law, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by data type. Deleted content may remain temporarily in backups or security records before scheduled removal or de-identification.

8. Your choices

  • Update available profile information and sharing settings in Listwell.
  • Revoke active public list or event invitation links.
  • Disconnect or manage identity-provider permissions through that provider, subject to account-access requirements.
  • Delete your Listwell account using the profile controls. Some limited records may be retained when legally required or necessary for security and dispute resolution.

9. Children

Listwell is a general-audience service for people age 13 or older and is not directed to children under 13. People who are under the age of majority where they live may use Listwell only with permission from a parent or legal guardian where required.

During signup or renewed legal acceptance, Listwell asks the user to confirm that they are at least 13 and to accept the account-eligibility conditions in the Terms. Listwell retains that attestation and the applicable policy version; it does not ask for or store a date of birth for this purpose.

If Listwell learns that it collected personal information from a child under 13 contrary to this policy, it will take appropriate steps to delete the information and account or otherwise comply with applicable law.

10. Security and international processing

Listwell uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Information may be processed in the United States or another location where a service provider operates, subject to applicable protections.

11. Policy updates

The date and version above identify this policy. Listwell will provide appropriate notice of material changes and request renewed consent when applicable law or a new optional data use requires it.

12. Contact

Contact Listwell at support@listwell.app for privacy questions, account requests, or support. Report abusive shared content through the in-app reporting controls or email safety@listwell.app.
